WINTER QUARTER
MICROSOFT EXCEL AND FINANCIAL MODELING WORKSHOP SERIES
The Undergraduate Business Society’s Excel and Financial Modeling Workshop is designed to give UCLA’s undergraduate students an edge on the competition by equipping them with technical skills used in many entry level finance positions. The workshop entails weekly sessions where students are taught various Excel skills and shortcuts commonly used in finance positions. The workshop begins with a brief review of basic accounting practices and principles, before moving into the modeling component. The body of the workshop provides a thorough rundown of Excel functions and shortcuts, and culminates with the creation of a basic three-statement financial model. Each workshop session is run by senior UBS Board members who have worked in various finance positions.
LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP
UBS’s acclaimed Leadership Development Workshop equips UCLA students with the skills and tools they need to guide themselves through the recruiting process. Resume workshops, cover letter advice, interview tips, and many other advisory tools are provided by those who have successfully completed recruiting process and have with a clear understanding how to teach others to do the same. At the end of these workshops, students are fully prepared to thrive during recruiting season.
INVESTMENT BANKING NIGHT
This event brings together industry-leading investment banks to provide an opportunity for students to interact and network with recruiters from these prestigious firms. This event allows seniors to learn more about the full-time recruiting process, and gives juniors a chance to acquaint themselves with the industry and firm representatives. Past Investment Banking Nights have had up to 20 investment banks in attendance, ranging from bulge bracket banks such as Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, Moelis, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, UBS, Barclays Capital, Deutsche Bank, and more.
INVESTMENT BANKING BOOTCAMP
This events allows students the opportunity to learn more about investment banking and the recruiting process from a panel of experienced students who have successfully placed in top investment banking internships. The panelist will discuss the investment banking industry, the job and the recruiting process, networking do's and don't, and answer any questions students may have. The is also a networking session at the end for students to meet the investment banking committee managers and directors and learn more about the investment banking workshop series.
ANNUAL JOBS & INTERNSHIPS FAIR
The UBS Annual Jobs & Internships Fair is a recruitment focused career fair that allows employers to showcase internships and full-time opportunities in various industries such as finance, consulting, entertainment, public relations, communications, accounting, sales, operations, marketing, human resources, and more. Attracting over 500 attendees every year, this fair is open to students from all majors and grade levels at UCLA.
SPRING QUARTER
CONSULTING WORKSHOP
The Consulting Spring Training series is an instructional workshop designed for rising juniors interested in recruiting for a consulting summer internship and rising seniors interested in recruiting for full-time positions. This program is designed introduce students to the consulting recruiting process and equip undergraduates with the necessary skills for success. It will be facilitated by UBS Board members who possess experience in the field.
INVESTMENT BANKING WORKSHOP SERIES
The Investment Banking Workshop Series is a hands-on, 6-week workshop, where up to 25 pre-selected students can interact with various firms, week by week, in a much, smaller, more personal setting. This gives the most qualified students at UCLA to gain face-time with top investment banks, and get their foot in the door for the investment banking industry. Furthermore, UBS utilizes both students who have received full-time banking offers, and trained recruiting professionals to provide workshop participants with educational workshops in resume writing abilities, networking tactics, and interviewing. Additionally, several workshop sessions focus on the more technical, corporate finance-based nature of the competitive investment banking interviews.
FALL QUARTER
CONSULTING NIGHT
This event brings over 25 of the most prestigious consulting firms to UCLA and gives students the rare and unique opportunity to network firsthand with experienced recruiters. Firms in attendance this past year include: Bain & Company, Deloitte Consulting, Mercer, LEK Consulting, ZS Associates, DaVita, Inc., Triage Consulting, Cornerstone Research, Accenture, Navigant Consulting, FTI Consulting, and Cognizant. Occurs on Tuesday, October 5th (time and location are still TBD.) Please dress in strictly business professional attire. A RSVP link will be available closer to the event date.

CUBS PROGRAM
CUBS is the UBS mentorship program. UBS committee members are matched with UBS Board members, who then act as a mentor in providing guidance for the underclassman’s professional career. Mentors help guide their mentee’s knowledge of the recruitment landscape by offering them resume revisions, networking opportunities, and personal advice. This program also serves as an internal development program for underclassmen.
FINANCIAL SERVICES NIGHT
An event in which myriad of firms from across the financial services industry come in to network with students and educate them about the many different careers in the financial sector. It is designed to provide each firm with a venue to emphasize their unique role within their industry, as well as an opportunity to interact with the most qualified applicants. This gives many UCLA students an exposure to financial professions, both highly popular and less recognized, that they might not receive in the classroom. Past attendees include Blackrock, PIMCO, Fidelity, Prudential Investments, UBS Private Bank, and many more. Occurs on Tuesday, October 3rd from 7PM - 9PM at the Palisades Room in Carnesale Commons. Please dress in strictly business professional attire.
UBS BUSINESS SHOWCASE
The UBS Business Showcase is an annual event designed to target first and second year students to introduce them to the various careers that exist within business and expose them to the many student organizations that will allow them to explore these options while on campus.
PRODUCT MANAGEMENT SERIES
The Undergraduate Business Society’s Product Management Speaker Series provides UCLA’s undergraduate students foundational guidance and an edge on the competition in recruiting for entry-level product management positions. The series begins with an overview of product management, the recruitment process, and how to best prepare for product interviews. Students will also be introduced to UCLA alum in product management and current UCLA student interns in PM who will share their insights on recruitment, what they’ve learned, and more.
